Bachelorette Party (Pregnant Style!)

Breakfast at the Hotel

Hanging Out at the Hotel Lounge

My fabulous sister and best friend from college, Lindsey, threw me an amazing bachelorette party over the weekend at the JW Marriott! When arrived at the hotel they had decorated the hotel room with adorable decor and had an amazing night planned. We first relaxed by the pool (the resort is awesome!) and then got ready together before going down to the lounge at the hotel to wait for everyone else. After enjoying drinks (non-alcoholic for me of course) I opened gifts. Everyone had gotten me adorable "lingerie" (mainly comfie pj's) and cuter underwear! We then went for a yummy dinner at White Chocolate Grill (I recommend the Prime Rib Au Jus) and dessert. After stopping by Blue Martini we called it a night and relaxed in the our rooms. The next morning we had the most amazing breakfast buffet with every food under the sun (a pregnant woman's version of heaven!). The best part was yet to come! After breakfast we all headed to the spa and got massages! It's been ages since I've had one and I absolutely loved every second of it! We capped off the weekend by relaxing by the pool and then going to see "The Ugly Truth." What a perfect weekend!

15 and 16 Weeks Pregnant

15 Weeks Pregnant

16 Weeks Pregnant

Now that I've moved fully into my second trimester my energy level has bumped up a notch, but unfortunately I'm still nauseous a lot. Jackson is not a morning person and prefers that I don't brush my teeth at all during this pregnancy (gross!). By lunchtime my stomach definitely calms down and my appetite has gotten HUGE. Hopefully I don't put on 80 pounds by the end of this pregnancy! I am starting to move fully into maternity clothing and I've found some great deals on Ebay and from the Liz Lange line at Target. Even though I'm fat and pregnant I still want to dress cute!

14 Week Ultrasound

My brother-in-law David is so nice and scanned in my 14-week ultrasound pictures so I could share them! So far Jackson is measuring 4 inches long and weighing in at 3 1/2 ounces, which is completely normal. We're excited for our next ultrasound so we can know for sure that he's really a boy!

It's a Boy!

At my fourteen week checkup I measured 6 weeks too big for my dates (I'm 14 weeks and I measured 20). So the doctor decided to send us in right away for a detailed ultrasound to determine if it's twins. We went in the next day and found out that it's just one baby (yeah!!) and it's a boy! I was extremely surprised to find out I'm carrying a boy because I hadn't even considered that option, but I've quickly started to get excited. My sister and I are going to be making his crib bedding using Amy Butler fabrics and we've been picking out nursery color schemes. I really don't like "themed" nurseries, so were going with a brown/blue/green color scheme. On Etsy.com the have awesome bedding using Amy Butler's fabrics and we're really excited! Oh, and the baby's name will be Jackson Ryan after my Great-Grandpa and Great-Uncle!

I've definitely experienced some major growth in the belly region these past few weeks! Everyone keeps asking whether or not we're having twins and I'm starting to get concerned that they might be right! Unfortunately my nausea is still sticking around, but I'm still gaining weight. At my fourteen week checkup I weighed in at 122.8 pounds, a 9 pound gain in 8 weeks! The doctor says that the heartbeat is nice and strong (160 beats per minute). So far so good!

Eleven and Twelve Weeks

Eleven Week Belly

Twelve Week Belly

Wrapping up my first trimester hasn't been as easy as I thought! For some reason I thought when you hit twelve weeks your nausea suddenly disappears- not quite the case. Things have actually gotten worse instead of better! Brushing my teeth is now a hazardous experience and I'm eager for this to pass! Othwerise, my exhaustion has gradually tapered off and I'm starting to feel more human. The belly is growing too, as seen in the above pictures!
